Almost as bad as a paperclip telling you that It looks like youre writing a letter Deleting the files as the previous poster suggested will do the trick. Go to the Microsoft Office 2004 folder in Applications and delete PDFMakerLib, that should do it. Deny it that pleasure by saying no I found those buttons really annoying too, but I wouldnt have minded them so much if they went to the side of one of the other MS Office menu bars. ![]() No matter how many times you deleted it, it would still reappear on the next boot-up. Turns out they had included a sneaky little script in some HP folder that would re-insert the icon on the dock if you removed it. I HATE it when companies 1.) decide to put something on my screen that I didnt ask for or approve, and b.) do shady sneaky little tricks to try to ensure I cant keep it off my screen. Just also be aware that the next time you fire up Adobe Acrobat, it is going to try to repair the annoying little buttons by putting those files you erased back into the folder. I trashed those. Restarted Excel, no pop up, no acrobat toobar. Isnt it allso possible to stop it from asking this alltogether by changing an argument in one of the Acrobat files from something like InstallWordAcroBarYES to InstallWordAcroBarNO Seem to remember reading about that somewhere on the web a few days back. I just did a search for PDFmaker and found 3 files that are realted to Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. I never use Acrobat anyway, I use Preview for all my PDF needs so its no biggie for me but it is very sneakyannoying of Adobe to do this.
